Portrait of Rudy the Retriever by The Drawing Mom

Shown above is a beautiful portrait of our yellow Labrador Retriever, Rudy drawn by JM of Bailey Be Good blog fame.  JM offers commissioned colored pencil drawings of pets in 5x7" and 8 x 10".  And they are truly lovely.

The Dog Daddy at our house has waited a lifetime for a heart dog.  That special relationship arrived with Rudy.

What better Christmas gift could our dog boys give their daddy?

Unfortunately, my photography skills do not include getting a good image of non-glare glass!  However, here's Rudy's portrait framed.  It was a big surprise and a real "hit" with the Dog Daddy!

If you've ever thought about having a portrait made of your pet, I highly recommend JM, the Drawing Mom.

Her process includes sketching an image on white, heavyweight paper, coloring it in with colored pencils, then adding some highlights with white or black acrylic paint.  Of course, the photo you send her to work from does need to be clear, show facial details, and shouldn't include too many shadows.  You can view samples of her drawing here and see videos of her drawings here.

A perfect, personal gift for a friend or for yourself, the Drawing Mom offers original artwork that captures your pet's soul!
