Dog Dad Love Song Lyrics

Dog... you already know how much I love you.
But now... I gotta let the world know... just what you
mean to me...

VERSE 1:
I wake up extra early just to watch you sleep
Never knew I could feel a love so deep
Looking in each other’s eyes while we go number two
Every moment’s special when I spend it with you
But we both know our mornings are bittersweet
So before I go, I wipe a tear, give you a treat
I close the apartment door, I feel like dying
Dad will be home soon, I swear I ain’t lying

Do you miss me the way I’m missing you?
Got so many feelings, what’s a guy to do?

CHORUS:
Damn, I love being your dog dad
You’re the bestest thing I’ve ever had
Put your little paw in my hand
You make me be a better man

This was me without a dog: super lame
This is me with you: now I got some game
It’s not why I got you, but you’re great with the
ladies
Hell yeah I got a geriatric pug
in this Mercedes!
Weekly bathtime with my special little guy
Wearing matching bow ties, looking super fly
Sh-t, dinner looks good, we about ready to start
Can’t wait to watch you chow down while I eat this PopTart
Fills me with pride when you trash your toys /
I say it all the time, for real, “You’re such a good boy!”
You take up our whole bed and I just get the small part
But it’s cool because you take the blame for all of my farts

Do you miss me the way I’m missing you?
Best part of my day is coming home, it's true

CHORUS:
Damn, I love being your dog dad
You’re the bestest thing I’ve ever had
Put your little paw in my hand
You make me a better man

Hey, Girl. Remember when we said “no dogs on the furniture”? Honestly, that rule was bullsh-t. I love having you next to me. In fact, when you jump off the couch, I get a little sad. So get on up here, baby. You know I wanna spend time with you. Unless you gotta pee, in which case I'll take you outside, 'cause you know I got nothing better to do th--

Hey, we gotta get back to the video.

Right.

CHORUS:
Damn, I love being your dog dad
You’re the bestest thing I’ve ever had
Put your little paw in my hand
You make me a better man

Damn, I love being your dog dad
You’re the bestest thing I’ve ever had
Put your little paw in my hand
You make me a better man

We the Dog Dadz.

Can't Be Replaced Jake Tribute Song by Dierks Bentley on Dog Song Saturday

We've got a country ballad about a dog for Dog Song Saturday today and we're pretty sure you're going to love it.

The final song on Dierks Bentley's Black album is a beautiful tribute to his dog Jake.  Can't Be Replaced talks about past memories and how some things just aren't replaceable.  Like his dog.

Bentley wrote this song when Jake was 15 and he knew their remaining time together was short.  At the time, Jake was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, was totally deaf, and had trouble using his legs.
"For 15 years right by my side
From a single man to three kids & a wife.
Friends come & go but when it comes to Jake
There's just some things that can't be replaced."
Bentley says he can't listen to this song without tearing up.  He lost Jake in July.

We think you should probably grab some tissues before you listen to Can't Be Replaced by Dierks Bentley.

Dr Google by Kelsey Beth Carpenter | Dog Song Saturday

We've all done it: headed to Google to check medical symptoms. And now, thanks to Kelsey Beth Carpenter, we've got a song about it!

Today's feature at Dog Song Saturday is Dr. Google and it's a barking good original dog song!

Carpenter is a Registered Veterinary Technician, a singer/songwriter, and the creator of the clever mime series Things Heard at an Animal Hospital.  She's at home in California with her soulmate, a 6 pound Chihuahua mix named Birdie.

Though the song is a bit silly and a lot funny, Carpenter notes:
Did you know that many animal hospitals have advice lines? Veterinary hospitals like the one I work at allow you to call and speak with a technician with any questions or concerns you may have. Not sure if your pet is experiencing a medical emergency? Call the vet! Wondering if you should use the alternative treatment your friend recommended? Call the vet! Heard a certain pet food was better than another? Call the vet! I think you're getting the idea... We want you to ask questions, to have discussions, and to do research. The more you understand about the problems your pet is experiencing, the more you can be a part of the solution. However, not all advice is good advice, and Google can be a dangerous place when it comes to medical information. We just ask that you check with your vet before making any major decisions about how to care for your pet! :)
Sit. Stay. Relax and get ready to laugh as you enjoy Dr. Google by Kelsey Beth Carpenter.  We've provided the lyrics just in case you'd like to sing along.  Then fetch some more genuine dog song music videos at Talking Dogs.  You'll be surprised at how many we've collected over the past few years.
Dr. Google Lyrics ©Kelsey Beth Carpenter

My breeder told me
Not to vaccinate
My neighbor said that
We should never spay
My groomer doesn't
Recommend flea meds
She read about them
On the Interwebs

You didn't go to Vet School
Nobody even asked you
It's too bad you don't have to
Take a test to have pets
Cause you're giving out advice
But maybe you should think twice
Cause we're dealing with real lives
Just ask your Vet, don't search the web with

Doctor Google, Doc Doctor Google

Down at the pet store
They were telling me
Not to feed byproducts
And always choose grain free
Then my dog trainer
Warned me not to buy
Treats made in China
Or else my dog would die

You didn't go to Vet School
Nobody even asked you
It's too bad you don't have to
Take a test to have pets
Cause you're giving out advice
But maybe you should think twice
Cause we're dealing with real lives
Just ask your Vet, don't search the web with

Doctor Google, Doc Doctor Google

Would you trust
The Internet
To perform surgery
On your beloved pet
I didn't think so
But didn't you know
That you can call us on the phone
To verify what you've been told

You didn't go to Vet School
Nobody even asked you
It's too bad you don't have to
Take a test to have pets
Cause you're giving out advice
But maybe you should think twice
Cause we're dealing with real lives
Just ask your Vet, don't search the web with

Doctor Google, Doc Doctor Google

One More Day by Diamond Rio | Dog Song Saturday

Another Dog Song Saturday here at Talking Dogs and we've got a new tune for you.

Okay, One More Day by Diamond Rio is technically a song about a dog, however it really is a perfect song for dog lovers.   In today's music video selection Becky Loechelt has used it as the theme song for a tribute to her dog, Ruby.

One More Day was written by Bobby Tomberlin and Steven Dale Jones; recorded and released by Diamond Rio in 2000.

Have a listen to the lyrics and we're sure you'll agree that you, too, would like one more day with your beloved pet.
Last night I had a crazy dream
A wish was granted just for me. It could be for anything.
I didn't ask for money or a mansion in Malibu.
I simply wished for one more day with you.

I Think My Dog is a Democrat by Bryan Lewis | Dog Song Saturday

Okay, everybody loosen up, take off your judgey pants and dust off your sense of humor.  Today  we have a political offering for Dog Song Saturday.

On March 22 country musician Bryan Lewis appeared on WTVN Radio to perform his new song I Think My Dog's a Democrat.  Our pals John and Ace over at Ohmidog posted this video and it set us to woofing.

I'm a self-confessed radical liberal and after listening to the lyrics, I'd guess that composer Lewis is...  not.   However, there aren't enough dog songs in the world and this one is actually pretty clever.

I Am Here for You by Laurel Canyon Animal Company | Dog Song Saturday @SurfDogRicochet @AnimalMusic

It's Saturday, so time for a new dog song at Talking Dogs. We've really got a good one for you today!

I Am Here For You is a collaboration between humans (The Laurel Canyon Animal Company) and a most amazing therapy dog named Surf Dog Ricochet.

They worked with animal communicator, Paula Brown who acted as a translator for Ricochet. They then used Ricochet's "reading" to create a rough song based on what they were told by Ricochet. After playing the rough for Ricochet, they then created the final version of the song based on Paula's translation.

One of the changes requested by Ricochet particularly stood out.  There was a line in the song that stated, "This is my song" and Ricochet told them that this was not a song, it was her soul. They made the appropriate changes.

A significant proportion of the profits from I Am Here For You are donated to Ricochet's non-profit organization Puppy Prodigies..  Puppy prodigies prepares dogs such as Ricochet for their future careers as service dogs. the Laurel Canyon Animal Company is proud to support Puppy Prodigies and other organizations and individuals who help animals.

Canyon Animal company creates original music about, for and with animals - especially dogs.  I Am Here For You is the first in their new series about service dogs: Therapy dogs, War dogs, Police Dogs, and more.

Sit. Stay. Relax and enjoy I Am Here for You sung by Donna Delory.  Purchase the song here to add it to your favorite dog song playlist.

Old Dogs by Larry Garrett | Dog Song Saturday

Another Dog Song Saturday has rolled around and we've got an original song about dogs for you.  Old Dogs  was written and is performed by Larry Garrett.

Larry Garrett's music comes from the long tradition of folk music in the Kansas City area. Pulled from everyday experiences of family, childhood, "old dogs" and growing older, the Independence, Missouri, resident's songs paint a picture of life that is personal yet steeped in a musical lineage. Garrett performs regularly, usually with a guitar and harmonica, though you'll also occasionally find him with dobro, banjo, dulcimer or ukulele.

Garrett wrote this song about the dogs he and his wife have had and dedicates it to Charla, the English Bull Dog, Derek the Standard Schnauzer, Bluto, a Bull Terrier, Mickey the Westie, and Darla the Bulldog.  He further notes that "if they're not up there in heaven, I don't think I want to go."

I've Loved You All Over the World by Willie Nelson | Dog Song Saturday

We usually stick to truly original songs about dogs here at Dog Song Saturday at Talking Dogs.  However, sometimes we run across a music video that we simply can't resist sharing.  Today is one of those days.

Listen to the lyrics of I've Loved You All Over the World by Willie Nelson and we're pretty sure you'll agree it is pretty perfect for this video celebrating a 14 year old dog's birthday.  The dog and his bestie are fulfilling a bucket list during a weekend trip of a lifetime.

The bond between a man and his dog is as strong as the Subaru Impreza according to the video. In his furry best friend's golden years, the pair finish the dog's bucket list: filling shopping carts up with tennis balls, 14 and 3/4 birthday cakes, a brand new leather shoe to chew on and fixing mends with old girlfriends and more.

Yes, it is a commerical for Subaru - the folks who've brought us some barking good dog / auto advertisements over the years.  No, we don't drive a Subaru and this is not a sponsored blog post, nor are we urging you to shop Subaru.  We just happen to love this company's ads.

I'm a French Bulldog Lyrics: ©TaylorBrown

Sitting on the couch watching the world go round
from my window, from my window
sometimes I feel like this house is like a cage that I cant escape
and it's got me trapped and I wanna open up the door but I can't
Because I don't have any thumbs and on a good day stand two foot one
and I cant reach the door nob even if I could my heads to big to balance on my back two legs
I tried to stand up straight, but then a car drove by and I chased it, yea I chased it
and thats when I remembered I'm a french bull dog
yea dont call me english, I'm a french bull dog
possibly one of the sweetest you've ever met a french bulldog
I've got to get at least 18 hours of sleep per day
and if you scratch me behind the ears I'll probably love you forever even though I'm not gay
I swear I'm not gay, yea I know what it looks like
yea I know that it looks that way but I swear Im not gay

Next time you think you've got it bad why don't you try to think a bit about me
a wild beast from the jungle at heart taken from my home and raised in captivity
I've never even met my dad, haven't seen my mom since I was only 6 weeks
and I'm fed the same damn thing every morning and night that lamb and rice don't taste nothing like meat
and if you think you can top that and still not complain and love the five dads you have all exactly the same, by licking their face and humping their legs and allowing them to give you best friend massages all day
but I'd be willing to bet a bag of bones that you have never ever been paid, to impregnate a girl because of what your papers say you fools have no idea exactly what it takes to be a french bull dog
yea dont call me english, I'm a french bull dog
guaranteed the sweetest you'll ever meet a french bulldog
I've got to get at least 18 hours of sleep per day
and if you scratch me behind the ears I'll probably love you forever even though I'm not gay
I swear I'm not gay, yea I know what it looks like
yea I know that it looks that way but I swear Im not gay
I'm a french bulldog, I might be a little small, but I swear I'm not gay,
I'm gonna take a nap, a nap is where its at
Whooaaaaaaa
