I've Loved You All Over the World by Willie Nelson | Dog Song Saturday

We usually stick to truly original songs about dogs here at Dog Song Saturday at Talking Dogs.  However, sometimes we run across a music video that we simply can't resist sharing.  Today is one of those days.

Listen to the lyrics of I've Loved You All Over the World by Willie Nelson and we're pretty sure you'll agree it is pretty perfect for this video celebrating a 14 year old dog's birthday.  The dog and his bestie are fulfilling a bucket list during a weekend trip of a lifetime.

The bond between a man and his dog is as strong as the Subaru Impreza according to the video. In his furry best friend's golden years, the pair finish the dog's bucket list: filling shopping carts up with tennis balls, 14 and 3/4 birthday cakes, a brand new leather shoe to chew on and fixing mends with old girlfriends and more.

Yes, it is a commerical for Subaru - the folks who've brought us some barking good dog / auto advertisements over the years.  No, we don't drive a Subaru and this is not a sponsored blog post, nor are we urging you to shop Subaru.  We just happen to love this company's ads.

Sit. Stay. Relax and enjoy Dream Weekend and the I've Loved You All Over the World by Willie Nelson soundtrack.  Fetch more dog songs and music videos at Talking Dogs.  You'll be surprised at how many we've collected over the years.

Wordless Wednesday: Rosie is Born to Be Wild

Get your motor running.  Head out to the highway.

(C'mon... sing along!)

Lookin' for adventure and whatever comes my way.

Born to be wild...   Rosie's born to be wild...

she's got her biker jacket and she's ready to roll on a Harley Chopper.
(or something like that)

Subaru #DogTested Fun Apps and Giveaway

Many years ago, when I was single and had a good case of the wanderlust, my rescue dog, Benji, and I went everywhere together.

Benji was a big dog, a Doberman / German Shepherd cross, and my car was a very small hatchback.  If Benji had his head out the window, people laughingly warned me that my car was going to tip over.

Whenever I parked to run an errand, Benji always moved into the driver's seat.  Many times I returned to my car to find people talking to him.  And this became a standard line:
"Does this dog have a driver's license?"
These days I'm married with three dogs and we're in the market for a new dog friendly vehicle.  We need something that can handle rural roads, is comfortable, gets good gas mileage and the purchase price won't wipe out our wallet.  Plus, the dogs have to be able to travel comfortably in it.  Well, not only that, but they have to like it, too.

Jeffie is pretty sure that our next vehicle needs to be a Subaru.

Ever since he saw the new Subaru video introducing Grant Weber, Subaru's most beloved Canine Sales Associate http://bit.ly/WW7C2Y  Jeffie has dreamed of a new Subaru.

He's certain that a new Subaru would be perfect for his For Love of a Dog mailman duties after seeing this http://bit.ly/W4TSFQ

In fact, he recently visited Subaru on Facebook to try out a new Dog Tested, Dog Approved Subaru.

First, he took the little quiz to discover which model would suit him best  http://subar.us/USzh6V

All he had to do is enter a few simple questions and this new Subaru app read him perfectly:

Jeffie would look great in a Subaru Outback.  With the go-anywhere capability of the Outback, you can get away from that fenced-in yard of yours and sniff out some real adventure.
In fact, Jeffie couldn't resist using another cool Subaru app http://subar.us/USzh6V to see what he'd look like in a new Subaru!

Okay, I have to admit it.  Jeffie looks good in a Subaru!

I'm just a little concerned about Jeffie's time on the computer, though.  I think he could become one of those dogs who never leave a chat room.  I say that because he got quite involved in a conversation with Sasha.

Sasha is a Golden Retriever who is on the new live chat Subaru Ask an Expert app http://subar.us/USzh6V   There was an awful lot of heavy breathing and discussion of favorite things to do on a date (chomping squirrels.)  Sadly, when Jeffie asked Sasha if she wanted to go for a ride, Sasha heard the door bell.

That's probably for the best.  Jeffie has places to go and new friends to meet.

After all, thanks to Subaru, Jeffie now has his own driver's license.

Yep.  You read that right.  Your dog can get his or her own driver's license, too, with this new Subaru app http://subar.us/USzh6V

Benji would definitely approve!

We all approve of this barking good giveaway from Subaru!  Enter now to win a $350 or $150 Visa Gift Card!  You'll need to "like" Subaru's Facebook page to enter, plus you can do the other four entries every single day!

Dog Wants a Subaru Thanks to Grant Weber

You may not know this, but Jeffie is the mailman at For Love of a Dog.  So far he's been content to be driven by a personal chauffeur.

That was until he was watching the Puppy Bowl and spotted the new Subaru advertisements.

Oh, oh.

Subaru has a new Canine Sales Associate, Grant Weber.  Grant sells cars to dogs.   Now, that does make sense, since dogs have been driving Subaru vehicles for years.

Of course, that was news to Jeffie, whose mail department chores keep him so busy that he doesn't watch much TV and has never surfed to YouTube.  And so far, he's not yet logged in to Facebook and seen the new Subaru apps at http://subar.us/USzh6V

He was glued to the TV during the Puppy Bowl and sure didn't miss the video where Grant Weber shows how easy it is for a dog to buy a Subaru.  http://bit.ly/14I6dbE

Then he saw this one that really got his focused attention http://bit.ly/W4TSFQ

In fact, all three of our dogs were glued to the TV for the Subaru ads.  There was some discussion about how many dogs would fit in a Subaru.  After all, vehicle decisions - like all important decisions in our family- are made with the dogs uppermost in mind.

Here's the one that sent Jeffie over the edge http://bit.ly/WW7C2Y   When he drove up in the mail truck and Grant just smiled and waved in welcome:

We're in trouble now.  Jeffie wants to test drive a Subaru.

And he's has asked for a raise.

New Puppy Bowl App from Subaru

Subaru: Dog Tested. Dog Approved.™
Are you ready for some Puppy Bowl?!

Get ready for the big game with a new Puppy Bowl Co-viewing App presented by Subaru!

Puppy Bowl IX is almost here!  Airing live on Sunday, February 3, any one who loves puppies - and who doesn't love puppies - needs to tune in to Animal Planet at 3 pm E/P time for the big game!

The Puppy bowl is an annual 2 hour television special that debuted on The Animal Planet eight years ago.  Puppies play a football game with dog toys and hilarity ensues.

There's a Most Valuable Pup award, a water bowl cam, slow motion cameras, hedgehog referees and more.  This year there's a new lipstick cam mounted in the lips of the dog toys for some really close-up action.  You don't want to miss the halftime show featuring cute kittens.

Before the big game this year, treat yourself to Subaru's new App for the Puppy Bowl!  Just download the "IntoNow" app on your tablet or mobile device here http://blogp.ws/Wxa8ia

Dog friendly Subaru has provided a way to make the Puppy Bowl even more fun and interactive as a part of their Dog Tested. Dog Approved.™ campaign. Their app will have Subaru content available on February 3 during the Puppy Bowl AND will also work during the re-air (check your local listings.)  Available for tablet and mobile devices, it promises to make a good time even better.  [Note:  the app only works in unison with the broadcast -  ie: the sounds within the puppy Bowl broadcast rigger activity on the app, similar to Shazam technology.]

As Subaru Puppy Bowl App users watch the Puppy Bowl live on TV, the Puppy Bowl Plus application will serve up additional content to interact and engage with.

What a barking good combination:  the Puppy Bowl and Subaru.  Each year Subaru of America celebrates the love between Subaru owners and their dogs with a dog-specific campaign.

This year's Subaru Dog Tested. Dog Approved.™ campaign introduces Grant Weber, Subaru Canine Sales Associate.  Having sold Subaru vehicles to only dogs, there's simply no better friend to man's best friend.  No matter size, breed, or temperament, he'll find the right Subaru for your needs.  So if you're a dog, and you're looking for a Subaru, head on down to see Grant Weber.  Subaru is sure you'll leave with your tail held high.

We never miss the Puppy Bowl!  This year we're planning on having even more fun with the Subaru Puppy Bowl App.   What are you waiting for?  Download it now!
