This smiling girl is Trix. She's a Pit Bull Terrier mixed breed dog about 5 1/2 years old. Medium size at 40 pounds, she'll fit right in your lap. Right now Trix is living at Stray Rescue of Saint Louis Pine Street animal shelter. Here's what shelter staff and volunteers have to say about Trix:
Trix is showing the camera her most adorable expression. It isn't difficult for her to look so cute as everyone calls her a sweet and wonderful girl. Trix came to Stray Rescue through their Pound Assistance Program, and just two days later she had her babies, the "cereal" puppies. Clearly she is just as gorgeous as all of her puppies who have been adopted or are in foster care. Now it is Trix's time for a new home.
Trix just can't get enough lovin'. She is a volunteer favorite, and they all tell her how wonderful she is. When Trix gets excited, she stands up on her back legs and does a little twirly dance. It makes everyone laugh. Besides being so personable, Trix is also very neat. She keeps her apartment at the shelter very tidy and has never had an accident.
Trix likes going for walks, but she was especially happy to go on a five mile hike with some shelter buddies. She proved to be a great car rider, settling quickly in to watch the world go by. On the trail, she kept pace with her human companion, neither pulling or dragging behind. She also explained to her companion that she especially adores tummy rubs.

Trix can be a bit shy when you first meet her, but once she knows you, the two of you become BFFs. Couldn't you use a best friend who is sweet and dances? Please come and meet Trix and prepare to fall in love.

Given a second lease on life and in return for a little affection and attention, these remarkable animals reward their new owners with a love and loyalty unmatched anywhere.
On Tuesday we'll be participating in the Tuesday's Tails blog hop hosted by Dogs N Pawz. This is the blog hop that features shelter pets.
