As most of you know by now, I'm slowly, but surely closing For Love of a Dog and my dog breed jewelry is selling out.  If you've been meaning to snag a piece in your favorite dog breed, you'd better hurry!

Today I'm barking about my Boxer, Doberman, and German Shepherd Dog jewelry gifts.  These are three of my most popular dog breeds and have been since I began For Love of a Dog.

Shown at top is Boxer dog breed jewelry and gifts that I currently have on hand:  5 bracelets, 3 necklaces, 2 pendants, 2 pins and a dog leash holder.

I have an even better selection of Doberman Pinscher dog jewelry.  As I write this I have:  10 bracelets, 4 necklaces, 1 pair of earrings, 5 pendants, and 3 pins.  These include both cropped ear and natural ear Dobies.  Sorry, all of the natural tail Dobies and red Dobermans are sold.  All of these have cropped tails and are black and tan.

Last, but not least for today, is my German Shepherd Dog jewelry.  Inventory today:  9 GSD bracelets, 3 GSD necklaces, 2 GSD pendants, and 3 GSD pins.  It's hard to find white German Shepherd Dog jewelry, so if that's your favorite GSD color, snag a piece now!

Raising Humans by Michael White | Dog Song Saturday

Kick off your weekend with Dog Song Saturday at Talking Dogs.  I should probably issue a tissue alert for today's featured dog song.

Raising Humans is an original song written and performed by Michael White.  This is a song he wrote for his own dog, Max, after he lost him to cancer.  The accompanying video is of Max.

White notes:
Max was a Basset Hound / Boxer mix and one heck of a dog.

Sit. Stay. Take a few minutes to enjoy Raising Humans.  This touching and heartfelt tribute to White's dog, Max, could very well be one to all the dogs you love and who love you, too.

Fetch more dog songs and dog music videos at Talking Dogs.  You'll be surprised at how many we've collected..

Adopt Brutis a Boxer Mix Dog in Kansas City

This gorgeous boy is Brutis.  He's a six year old Boxer mix who was picked up as a stray.  Here's was Brutis has to say about himself.
Hi! My name is Brutis and I am a handsome 6-year-old Boxer/mix. I originally came into Wayside Waifs through another shelter and I am so ready to find my fur-ever home! It hasn't been the easiest, going from shelter to shelter, hoping that my family will find me. All my friends here tell me to just be patient, my perfect family is out there and I know they're right!

I would love to tell you a little about myself in the hopes that we are the right fit! I originally came to the other shelter when animal control found me roaming the streets. It was scary to be out in the big world and I didn't always have the most gentlemanly behavior. I sometimes chased people, a fact I'm not proud of. When I got scared I tried to tell people by running around but I guess it made them a little scared too. I am a very sweet and loving boy but it didn't come across that way so animal control brought me to the animal shelter. Luckily, everyone since then has seen what a smart and big-hearted boy I am! I wasn't really getting noticed at the shelter I was at before, so I came to Wayside in the hopes that you will see me and know that I am what you have been looking for!!

I want to tell you a little more about the home I am looking for. I need to go to a home with no other animals. I really and truly have tried to get along with other animals, but they don't like my play style and I get a little guarded sometimes. I just want to be in a home where I can soak up all the love! I hope that's not asking too much because I really can't wait to have a home of my own! It's all I think of here, it's what keeps me going every day. The thought of knowing that I will one day sleep in a home, with a family I can love!

If you are looking for a loyal and loving companion, look no further! Come on out to Wayside Waifs and ask to meet Brutis! I'll be waiting with my bags packed until the day you come for me!

Lots of love,
Brutis

Have a look at this handsome fellow's adoption video and then give Wayside Waifs a call at  816-761-8151.  Brutis' animal ID number is 22484831

Adopt Wendy a Boxer Mix Dog at Stray Rescue St Louis

Wendy is a four year old Boxer Pit Bull Terrier mix.  She's a medium size dog at 45 pounds and, at only 4 years, she has a lot of pep and energy.
Here's what the staff and volunteers at Stray Rescue St Louis have to say about her:
Wendy is, as her picture shows, a beautiful dog.  Her eyes immediately grab your attention.  They look very wise and soulful, much like Wendy herself.

Wendy was rescued with some of her canine friends.  She was part of a pack of dogs that Stray Rescue had been feeding for some time.
One lucky day, it was Wendy's turn to come inside where she quickly became a favorite of her caregivers and the volunteers.  She has a remarkable desire to please the humans around her and is very loyal to them.
Wendy learns quickly and, among other things, sits on command.  She is also an excellent car rider. Recently Wendy got to go on a five mile hike with her shelter friends.  She took quickly and easily to the trail, becoming a fantastic hiker.  In true Wendy-fashion, she kept an eye on her human companion on the hike.
Wendy gets along with some dogs, but she would need a home without cats.

On those days when things aren't going quite as you planned, think how lucky you would be to have a beautiful, doe-eyed girl eager to snuggle with you and cheer you up.  This is an opportunity you should not let slip by.

For more information about Wendy, contact Stray Rescue St Louis at 314-771-6121.

Founded by Randy Grim, Stray Rescue of St Louis sold purpose is to rescue stray animals in need of medical attention, restore them to health, and place them in loving adoptive homes.  Virtually all of the pets they save have been abused and neglected.  Stray Rescue is a no-kill organization that believes rescued animals often make the best pets.  Given a second lease on life and in return for a little affection and attention, these remarkable animals reward their new owners with a love and loyalty unmatched anywhere.

On Tuesday we'll be participating in the Tuesday's Tails blog hop hosted by Dogs N Pawz.  This is the blog hop that features shelter pets.  Find a pet at your local animal shelter or rescue and join us!  Please help spread the word about these beautiful animals via social media and let's find them forever homes!
