Take a look at Whirlwind in her adoption video and you'll see she is a gorgeous girl! Whirlwind is a Pit Bull Terrier mixed breed dog about 4 1/2 years old. Weighing 57 pounds, she's a medium size dog.
Here's what Stray Rescue St Louis staff and volunteers have to say about her:
For more information about Whirlwind, contact Valerie at Stray Rescue 314-771-6121 Whirlwind is currently calling their Pine Street Shelter home.Whirlwind is wearing her "casual" look for her picture, but don't be fooled by such nonchalance. This girl has an abundance of love and energy that she likes to share with others.Whirlwind was rescued two days before she gave birth to seven healthy puppies. She was an awesome Mom, allowing her foster Mom to hold the puppies from the moment they were born. Whirlwind took excellent care of her puppies, and, as they grew, she had great fun teaching them how to play.Whirlwind's big adventure so far, besides being a Mom, was a five mile hike she took with her shelter buddies. She was very excited to get out into nature and ready to go from the moment she left her apartment. She liked to lead the pack and took her own, short, mini-breaks when the temperature got too hot. She also showed her intelligence on the ride back to Stray Rescue by lying down where the air-conditioning vents would blow on her face.Whirlwind is a very sweet, eager-to-please dog. She is a perfect cuddle buddy and will spent hours snuggled up on the couch with you watching whatever is on television, or - better yet - just taking a wonderful nap. She sounds amazing, doesn't she? Why not come and meet her - soon.
Stray Rescue is in winter crisis mode. This winter so far has been brutal with freezing rain, ice, snow and arctic temperatures. And the first official day of winter is barely in our rear-view mirror. Currently all Stray Rescue adoption fees are just $50.
Founded by Randy Grim, Stray Rescue of St Louis sole purpose is to rescue stray animals in need of medical attention, restore them to health, and place them in loving adoptive homes. Virtually all of the pets they save have been abused and neglected. Stray Rescue is a no-kill organization that believes rescued animals often make the best pets. Given a second lease on life and in return for a little affection and attention, these remarkable animals reward their new owners with a love and loyalty unmatched anywhere.
On Tuesday we'll be participating in the Tuesday's Tails blog hop hosted by Dogs N Pawz. This is the blog hop that features shelter pets. Find a pet at your local animal shelter or rescue and join us! Please help spread the word about these beautiful animals via social media and let's find them forever homes!
