New Amethyst Dog Bone Necklaces at For Love of a Dog

I've been busy in my studio and want to share a couple of the new dog bone themed necklaces with you.

I love the color combination in the dog bone necklace shown at left and below.  I combined a handmade lampwork three dimensional dog bone and lampwork bead for the pendant.  Then hand selected some coordinating deep purple amethyst and muddy yellow jasper gemstone beads for the necklace.  Click here for details.

A variation on the same theme, the amethyst dog bone necklace shown below also began with a handmade dog bone in pale lavender.  Combined with an amazing lampwork bead with a lavender core and glass encased pink flower blossoms.  For the necklace, I used amethyst and pink agate gemstone beads, hand wire wrapped with gold jeweler's wire.  Click here for details.

Though a lot of us love amethyst, these would make particularly special gifts for February birthday dog lovers!

Halo Healthsome Dog Treats from Chewy.com | Product Review

Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie were thrilled when Chewy.com asked them to give these dog treats a taste test.  Jeffie loves to keep our UPS man on his toes and get that adrenaline pumping.  And these dogs can't turn down a taste testing!

I was glad to oblige because these Halo beef and liver dog treats sounded like healthy snacks and training rewards.

As always, Chewy.com provided super fast delivery of our order.   These dog treats are what I would call dog bone cookies.  They are dry, crispy, and faintly smell like grain to me.  Absolutely no odor or stickiness on my hands from handling them.

Rudy, Rosie and Jeffie were eager to give them a try!

According to the Chewy.com website, Halo Healthsome Biscuits are nutritious treats that are good for dogs and contain no fillers or added sugar.  Key benefits:
  •  Good source of complex carbohydrates for energy
  • Parsley freshens breath
  • Helps clean teeth and gums
  • Pumpkin assists digestive tract

We chose to try the Halo Healthsome Biscuits with Beef and Liver dog treats.

Here are the ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour, Beef, Beef Liver, Potato Flour, Pea, Flour, Chicken Liver, Rolled Oats, Chicken Fat (Preserved with Natural Mixed Tocopherols), Pumpkin, Tomatoes, Apples, Sweet Potatoes, Cranberries, Split Peas, Carrots, Green Beans, Green Bell Pepper, Celery, Parsley, and Ascorbic Acid

Guaranteed analysis:
Crude Protein 13.0% (Min), Crude Fat 7.0% (Min), Crude Fiber 5.0% (Max), Moisture 12.0% (Max)

Calories:  kcal/treat 14

These dog treats contain no artificial flavors or colors.  They're made from real beef with beef liver.  There's no corn and no sugar or molasses.

None of my dogs have issues with wheat and none (so far) have issues with their weight, so I felt fine about the ingredients.  I also like that Halo dog treats are made in the US without lots of chemical additives.  Though their smell was neither attractive or unattractive to me, the dogs seemed to love their aroma.

No doubt about it, the dogs give these dog treats all paws up!  Talking Dogs is pleased to recommend these Halo Healthsome dog treats and we highly recommend Chewy.com.  I like their wide variety of choices available, easy to navigate web site, fast home delivery and excellent customer service.

Halo Healthsome Biscuits with Beef and Liver dog treats are available at Chewy.com in an 8 oz bag for $7.49.  However, right now they're on sale for $4.99!  Chewy.com offers over 120 brands of pet food and accessories with free (orders over $49) home delivery.

Right now Chewy.com has a Faces of Summer Giveaway with three prizes offered!  Post a photo of your cat or dog enjoying their favorite summertime activity for a chance to win!  In under 50 words, tell them about it.  The contest runs through the end of September.

Yellow Labrador Retreiver Dog Lover Jewelry and Gifts

In honor of our Rudy's birthday today, I want to share some of my yellow Labrador Retriever dog jewelry with you.  Here's a very small sample.

Shown at top is a yellow Lab dog lover bracelet with artisan lampwork, crystals, dog bones, and one of my sweet yellow Labrador Retriever dog two dimensional sculptural charms.  All handmade and one of a kind.  I love the daisies and rosebuds on that lampwork bead!

In the yellow Lab necklace shown above you'll find lots of red jasper gemstone beads, three dimensional dog bones, a red jasper heart and, of course, a yellow Lab pendant.  All hand wire wrapped with silver jeweler's wire.

The yellow Lab pendant shown above comes with a sweet red jasper heart.  These make wonderful gifts for those special dog lover friends.

The Labrador Retriever dog lover necklace shown above could be any color of Lab, but the shape of the head reminds me of our Rudy.  Fabulous hand carved gemstone pendant that I imported from Hong Kong.  The necklace is bold and chunky green and turquoise jasper gemstones.  I have several unusual, one of kind necklaces similar to this one in tigerseye, turquoise and other gemstones.

I also have a few yellow Labrador Retriever dog leash holders on hand.  They're very lifelike and make fun gifts for anyone who loves a yellow Lab.

Cheese Dog Biscuit Recipe from For Love of a Dog Jewelry

Lucy and Jeffie begging for cheese.
My dogs are cheese hounds.  Big time cheese hounds.  They can hear us getting the cheese from the frig even when they're outside in the yard.  It's probably a fabulous psychic talent or something.  For sure they are wild about these Cheese Dog Biscuits, so here's the recipe:

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 pound corn oil margerine
1 clove garlic - crushed
Pinch of salt
Milk
Grate the cheese and let is stand until room temperature.  Then cream the cheese with the softened margerine, garlic, salt and flour.  Add just enough milk to form a ball.  Chill for at least 30 minutes.  Roll out onto a floured surface and cut into shapes.  Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly brown and firm.  Makes 2-3 dozen depending on the size of your cookie cutter.

Here at For Love of a Dog Jewelry these dog treats do not last long!
