Copper Dog Bone Jewelry Bracelets at For Love of a Dog

Since my September jewelry giveaway is one of my copper dog bone bracelets, I thought it would be a good time to feature some more of my copper dog bone jewelry.

Each of these bracelets is one of a kind and includes a beautiful two dimensional flamed copper dog bone focal.  Gorgeous warm colors like a vivid sunset comes from the heat of the flame:  shades of pink and orange.  Each one is a little bit different.

The bracelet shown at top emphasizes the beautiful pinks, from soft rose to hot raspberry.  In fact, the faceted crystal rondelle beads I used are a soft, mellow rose color and coordinate nicely with the hand selected artisan lampwork beads.  This bracelet is hand wire wrapped with copper jeweler's wire.

I adore the deep cherry rose blossom handmade lampwork beads in the dog bone bracelet shown above.  The copper dog bone has the addition of some raised golden "bumps," so I hand wire wrapped these beads with gold jeweler's wire,. Then I added a sweet little gold heart and a gold dog collar and bone toggle clasp.

This confection (shown below) makes me think of pink lemonade and cotton candy.  Sweet shades of pink with some yellow, too.

Not all my copper dog bone jewelry is necessarily girly bling.  The bracelet shown below is simple and unisex, you could even say it has a grunge flavor.  Basic black onyx gemstone beads surround the focal and are hand wired wrapped with copper jeweler's wire.  Then I added a little copper heart which I hand stamped: DOG.

I combined big fat pink faceted crystal rondelles and gorgeous artisan lampwork beads.  The lampwork beads have a warm root beer base with raised flowers in mauve pink.  Then I added some dangles of more pink crystals and some amazing copper colored jasper gemstone beads.  Gotta have some bling!

This dog bone bracelet is hand wire wrapped with copper jeweler's wire.  The clasp is a copper lobster claw clasp.  I just had to add a sweet antiqued copper heart dangle.

More mischief...   
While you're reading this on Monday, Rudy will be at the vet.  Friday night I discovered a large soft lump on Rudy's abdomen. He shows no sign of it bothering him or of any illness.   Our vet was in emergency surgeries all day today (Saturday), so Rudy will see him at 8 a.m. on Monday.  Would appreciate some good thoughts sent Rudy's way. 

Update As I write this update (Monday 9:15 am) Rudy is in surgery.  Though our vet suspects Rudy's tumor is a Lipoma, because of its size and location he recommended removal.  We won't have the biopsy results for about a week.  On Wednesday I could not see or feel a thing.  Friday evening I couldn't miss the almost golf ball size lump next to his penis.  Rudy will have to stay at the vets as long as he has a drain in the surgical site.  I'll know more when he comes out of surgery.

Favorite Dog Bone Jewelry Gifts at For Love of a Dog

Recently I've shared some of my favorite new creations including "The Rosie" and "Big Heart" necklaces.  Since our August giveaway is a copper dog bone necklace, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite pieces of dog bone jewelry.

Because most of my dogs have been mixed breed mutts, my dog breed jewelry just doesn't cut it for me personally.  Dog bones have been my favorite theme for years and I still love them.

It's hard to pick a favorite from, but I think I'd have to say I simply adore the turquoise lampwork bracelet shown above.  I know some don't like the term "dog mom,"  but around my house I am the dog mama and my dogs are my favorite babies.  I love the pretty white and turquoise daisy floral lampwork beads combines with sparkling turquoise faceted crystal rondelle beads.  Plus, the dog collar and dog bone toggle clasp makes me smile.

I like the lively color combination of deep sky blue with deep rose and a hint of peridot green.  Such pretty little roses on these handmade lampwork beads.  Besides, I love the message of adopting a best friend. 

The WOOF dog bone necklace shown below appeals to me because of it's neutral caramel and biscuit brown colors.  Plus, it's so much fun!

Awhile back I imported some Ojime dog carvings from a craftsman in Hong Kong. They're rare and lovely!  I used one in in this dog bone and freshwater pearl necklace:

Though I'd have to say I really enjoy wearing almost all the styles of dog bone themed earrings I create, I dearly love dog bones combined with hearts like in these earrings shown below.  These could easily be called "For Love of a Dog Earrings."

OMD, it is so hard to just pick a few favorites to share with you!  If I could keep and wear them all, I probably would.  However, For Love of a Dog keeps me from being a dog jewelry hoarder!

Big Heart Big Love for Dogs | New Jewelry at For Love of a Dog

Last week I shared one of my new creations with you - the black Lab lampwork and crystal necklace that I was tempted to simply call "The Rosie."   I promised that I'd share the other piece that is a current personal favorite of mine.   And here it is.

Somehow it just seems right that a necklace for a dog lover would have a HUGE heart and lots of dog bones.  Am I right?  Of course I'm right.  BIG LOVE is what it's all about.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  I'm thinking this necklace pretty much illustrates my business name:  For Love of a Dog.

While going through my stash of pendants and charms, I came across two super size chunky red sponge coral hearts.  Simple, a bit primitive, scarlet red color, and, let's face it, hunky! 
 

This red coral heart is 3/4" thickl and 1 1/4" in diameter.

So spectacular that I didn't want the necklace itself to distract from the statement of the heart.  So, I surrounded it with some great fat coral 14mm round beads and some wonderful three dimensional cream colored dog bones.  All hand wire wrapped with silver jeweler's wire.

This is a one of a kind necklace.  Wait a minute (that's what you're thinking.)  I said I found two of these humongous red coral hearts squirreled away in my studio.   Right.  However, I'm saving the last one for me!
