Adopt Hotcakes a Senior Pitbull Dog at Wayside Waifs in KCMO

This eye catching beauty is Hotcakes.  She's a 10 year old American Staffordshire dog at Wayside Waifs animal shelter in Kansas City, MO.  November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month and Hotcakes would certainly like to find a loving furever home soon!

Surrendered by her owner to animal control, I'm sure Hotcakes never thought she'd find herself homeless.  Hotcakes walks nicely on a leash and cuddling is her favorite activity.

UPDATE: I just heard from Wayside Waifs that Hotcakes was adopted this morning (11/10/14)  Congratulations, Hotcakes!

Here's Hotcakes adoption message:
Hi! My name is Hotcakes and I am a gorgeous 10-year-old American Staffordshire terrier. You can see by my picture that I have deep, soulful eyes and a soft coat. I want to tell you my story in the hopes that you might the family I've been waiting for.
I came to Wayside Waifs as an owner surrender to animal control and to be honest, I never thought I would find myself homeless at this stage in my life. My owner was sad to give me up but could no longer take care of me. All my friends at Wayside Waifs tell me that I shouldn't worry; this is the place where pets like me get adopted! First and foremost, I think I should tell you that I am hands down the best snuggle buddy you could ask for! There is nothing I love quite so much as giving my friends here all the love I have to offer. Don't get me wrong, I love to play too but cuddling is definitely my favorite hobby.
My friends here say that I am a dream to walk on a leash. I don't go too fast, or too slow; I guess you could say that I match your pace! One of my friends took me for a walk today and we had so much fun! I got to take in all the smells and see all the sights and afterwards we just sat together and talked. To be honest, she talked more than I did, but I am a good listener, or so I've been told! Some of the staff noticed that I try really hard to keep my kennel cleaned. With some consistency, patience a routine, hopefully house training should go pretty smoothly! I also am treat motivated and this will go miles on any training I might need. I can be particular about my canine friends so if you have any canines I might go home with, bring them on out to make sure we all get along!

Now that you know a little more about me, I am hoping you'll see what a kind, loving and sweet girl I am. If you are looking for a companion and best friend, I sure do hope you'll consider me, Hotcakes. I want to put this stage of my life behind me and find my family!

All my love,  Hotcakes
