Follow-up Friday: Daisy was Adopted

I'm happy to be joining Heart Like a Dog in the follow-up Friday blog hop this week.  This is the blog hop that lets you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend.  Hosted by FUF creator, Jodi at Heart Like a Dog and co-hosted this week by Dawn at Pet Auto Safety blog.

I'm going to begin with some fantastic news.

Remember Wanda / Daisy, the Bloodhound I featured as an adoptable dog in the Tuesday Tails blog hop? She was in temporary foster care in Virginia and on her way to another foster home in CT with Bandit's Place.

She has been adopted!

Not only does she have a new human family, she has a new Bloodhound brother, Duke!  You might remember that though the rescue named her Wanda, before that her name was Daisy.  Her new family has re-christened her Daisy.  Perfect, since she now has a brother named Duke.

Looks like she's settled into her new home mighty well! I love a happy ending.

Now, I have a confession:  sometimes I'm an idiot.  As I read the comments on my KONG treats giveaway, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why some people were wishing Jeffie a happy birthday.  I won't tell you how many times I re-read my post, trying to figure it out.  Thanks to JoAnn and Jackie, the light bulb finally went on.

Note to self:  be sure to doublecheck each and every entry option when you're "recycling" a Rafflecopter contest.   Sorry, everyone!

If you haven't already, be sure to enter to win some new KONG Pumpkin Stix and American Chicken Tenders dog treatsOur dogs are crazy for them.

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my Looking Back Wordless Wednesday post.  This is the primo backyard watchdog spot and I just wish I had a puppy photo of Jeffie there, too.

Congratulations to Jodi!  She spotted the size difference between Rudy at 4 months and Rosie as 6 months old.  Yes, Rudy is a very big boy.  Rosie?  No so much.  She endures many nicknames around here, including "Shortie."

That's our week!  Join the Follow-up Friday Blog Hop and share yours!

  4. Yay!! I love to hear adoption stories!! It's always exciting to find out that one of the dogs we've featured has been adopted! Thanks for following up on her. So glad she went into a Bloodhound-experienced, Bloodhound-loving home. It just makes things so much easier when a family is already experienced with a particular breed.
I can't remember if I commented on the Rudy and Rosie pics. Such precious photos... it really is too bad you don't have a similar shot of Jeffie around that age.
Thanks for the reminder about the Kong treats giveaway! Need to go enter again.

  6. Best follow up of all is to hear that a pup got a furever home! Yeah Wanda!

I'm sure I would do the same, and be just as confoosed, if I recycled a Rafflecopter giveaway. :)

  9. LOL! I thought I remembered that Jeffie already had a birthday. :D I'm so happy Wanda or Daisy was adopted. Is it Wanda or Daisy? The blog title says Daisy but the link says Wanda.

    1. Good catch, Dawn! I just edited to clarify. This dog's original name: Daisy. The rescue re-named her Wanda. Her new family prefers Daisy... which certainly goes with Duke :-) Thanks!
