I'm happy to be joining Heart Like a Dog in the follow-up Friday blog hop this week. This is the blog hop that lets you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend. Hosted by FUF creator, Jodi at Heart Like a Dog and co-hosted this week by Sue at The Golden Life.
I had a rude awakening yesterday. In trying to find the lyrics to a song for Dog Song Saturday, I ran into a link that sounded all too familiar. That's how I discovered http://info-pets4u.blogspot.com/http://info-pets4u.blogspot.com where a Blogger named Jhonyblog's has copied all of my blog posts since 2011 and some from 2010. Go ahead, click the link and you'll see what I mean.
Since Jhonyblog's lists no contact information, I went straight to Google Webmasters Tools and reported webspam. You might want to do a search to explore whether or not your own blog or other posted-on-the-web info has been swiped. Since my posts were copied exactly, they weren't hard to find searching by title.
And I never did find the dog-goned song lyrics.

While you're at that blog post, you really should click the link to explore all the great dog lover gifts they offer.

Wordless Wednesday: Waiting
Thanks for all the comments! Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie do love their daddy. They are very patient. And, NOPE, Jan and Brian, there were absolutely no treats involved :-) I'm pretty sure they'd agree with Emma: dogs spend so much of their lives waiting for their humans! Dawn is correct. Rosie is messing around with a very tired and beat up flippy flyer. The center fabric is gone and when she was younger, Rosie wore it sort of like a Hula Hoop. BOL!
That's is for me. Join the hop and share what you've been up to this week!

WHAAAT! Unbelievable! I went to your not-so-flattering imitator and left a comment: YOU STOLE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE POSTS!!! Maybe some public shaming? I hope the webspam complaint gets some action for you. I am very shocked by this!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I doubt that thief will care... suspect he/she has no shame! Thanks for the link (below), I already reported this to Google and since this person is using Blogger, I'm hoping it will be pulled fairly quickly. Thanks, Amy!
DeleteI just looked and yep, no contact info on the thief. But she has about ten blogs. Guess it's easy to do if you just STEAL all your posts. I hope she's exposed to the other victims. I notice Jhonyblog is on Blogger - they need to take care of this pronto.

OMG, quite speechless by the copied blog!! I hope they take it down soon! D:
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes!! I think I would lose my sh*t if I found that out!! This @$$hat has some nerve! They've copied absolutely everything!! I hope google webmaster can help.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of your news is cool though and I love the pics of the dogs waiting for the Dog Daddy. BTW, I know you found out some of the folks who would be receiving your jewelry in their swag bags, but did you ever let us know? hint, hint.
BTW thanks for joining the hop!! Have a great weekend!!
Incredible, isn't it, Jodi! They didn't change a word.
DeleteI should've talked to you before I wrote my FUF! Wasn't thinking. How about I tell a bit about the Emmy's celebrities when I announce the winner of the bracelet? :-)
We are always victims of blog theft. You should take the link off. You have to do a DNS take down from the hosting site so it will be shut down forever. Oh LOVE that shirts and stuffs from City dog will enter. Happy Friday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sugar. It is a Blogger blog, not self-hosted. Hoping Google will take care of it. I've posted the link because I want people to be able to see that my blog is copied exactly, with zero changes.
DeleteSERIOUSLY?!? They were posting all your blog posts?!? That is so WRONG!!! I need to check into this.
ReplyDeleteYup. Good idea to search a bit and make sure you're not being copied, too!
DeleteHackers all need to go to a island with no internet! Have a great weekend and will catch up with you when I get back.
ReplyDeleteOh, JoAnn... islands are cool. I don't want to give one to hackers! How about we launch them into space or something?
DeleteOMG I just looked and the ONLY blog posts he has are YOURS! OMG! Every one of them! In a way it is a compliment (don't hit me)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I'm sure not feeling complimented! LOL
DeleteWhat is wrong with some people? Why would you want to copy stuff that is not yours and call it your own. People need to get a life and get their own pet to photograph and write about. It is so maddening!
ReplyDeleteGood grief - why the hell would someone steal your whole blog?? Why would she want to pass off your dogs as hers?? That is just so odd, it's beyond me. The person is obviously in another country as some of the fine print is in another language that I don't even recognize. Good luck with getting it taken down. People can be such losers. Anyway, don't let the turkeys get you down! (Hey - maybe that's the language... Turkish!) And have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! That is insane! I can't believe it... I've had to contact Google about 2 blog posts that I found that were copied from my blog. I hope that I don't ever come across something like this!
ReplyDeleteWow that is really something about your posts!
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible about that other blog copying your work. Thankfully, though, Google has algorithms that know who posted what first and give credit where credit is due. I've had people steal photos and blog posts from me too. You can also use Google to report a DMCA complaint.
ReplyDeleteWow. Just wow. Someone stealing a post here and there is one thing (still totally wrong, obviously). But stealing every single one of your posts? There's no logic to it. That blog isn't even monetized in any way (no ads, nothing)... that's what makes it a real head-scratcher. The motive for theft is to benefit the thief in some way... but... it doesn't even appear that they're receiving any benefit from stealing your work, so... I'm just... it's just... I'm flummoxed.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are able to get it taken down. Google penalizes for duplicate content, so they need to know that YOURS is the original content. The nice thing is that you both use the Blogger platform, so they'll be able to tell very easily that your content is posted first.
Keep us updated on what happens!
