Hailey and Her New Human

Remember Hailey, the dog at Dogwood Animal Shelter who had been there almost all of her 8 years of life?  Many of you shared her story via social media, yet the next month Hailey was still homeless.

In a fit of frustration, I shot off an SOS to Life With Dogs, asking that they put the power of their thousands of followers towards getting this sweet girl adopted.

Last month I told you that thanks to Life With Dogs and social media sharing, Hailey had found her forever home.

She's settling in nicely and I knew you'd like to see a photo of Hailey and her new best friend.  I'd say they both look very happy!

    1. Actually, all of YOU rock! I know that some of my Facebook fans shared the story, as well as some of my Twitter friends, and I'm sure that's what made the difference for Hailey :-D

  2. I remember when you first posted about her. I wanted so much to help her and then you wrote that she'd been adopted, it made me so relieved!

    She looks happy.

Have you any information to how she is adapting to life outside of the shelter?

    1. Jodi, From what I've been told, Hailey is adjusting VERY well to life outside the shelter. She had some anxiety the first week, but quickly settled into her new life. I'm sure that's due in part to the excellent socialization she enjoyed at Dogwood, but also in large part to an understanding, compassionate new owner. Isn't it great?!

    1. I know exactly what you mean... I cried when I found out. The Life with Dogs article ran over a weekend and got real attention when the shelter was closed on that Sunday. Neil (over at Life with Dogs) and I felt like we were on tender hooks waiting to hear... such happy news!
