It's Saturday, so we think it's time for a dog song song to get the weekend started right. Today we have a real oldie for you. Gid Tanner and the Skillet-Lickers recorded Ya Gotta Quit Kickin My Dog Aroun in 1926. this old time bluegrass tune is accompanied by an animation video from Walt Disney's Alice and the Dog Catcher from 1924 (pre Mickey Mouse).

ReplyDeleteIt's funny to think something that probably was innovative for it's time is now available on YouTube and can be shared by everyone. What surprised me was that they were actually able to incorporate a real human into it! I wouldn't have thought that was possible back then.

ReplyDeleteWow, Mom asked me to share that the animation is quite something for so long ago... the subject felt mighty uncomfortable though... she remembers hearing about the dog catcher... :( Glad they escaped and found their way back home.
