Does your dog have what it takes to be King or Queen of Hearts? Join the Southwest Missouri Humane Society in their contest to crown canine royalty. The Southwest Missouri Humane Society will celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of its new building on Oct. 2 and they invite dog owners to to help it raise money. You can submit a picture of your dog for the "Hound Dog Homecoming" contest. Registration has already begun and goes through Sept. 27. The registration fee is $10.
"Pet owners who raise the most money will win the contest," said Lesly Thurman of the Humane Society. The King and Queen candidates who raise the most money on behalf of the homeless pets at the Humane Society will be crowned Hound Dog Homecoming King and Queen and will represent the Humane Society for the next year.
