Wordless Wednesday: Summertime
All of our many hummingbird feeders are very busy as the "hummers" ready themselves to take off for winter quarters. Flocks of geese began heading south a couple of weeks ago. I suspect we'll have an early winter in the Ozarks.
Our equine, Cakes and Ditty, could care less about the little winged things.
Jeffie likes to watch the hummingbird wars from a safe distance where they won't dive bomb him.

Adopt Dynamite a Quarter Horse Available at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch
Dynamite is a sorrel Quarter Horse about 9 years old. She's been at the Longmeadow Rescue Ranch shelter since October 2007 and is looking for a forever home.
According to shelter staff, Dynamite is an exceptional horse. She requires an experienced rider, but in the right hands, she has the potential to be a great performance horse. She knows leg and seat cues and is very responsive.
As you can see from the video, Dynamite carries herself well and loves to chase that big red ball. She's make a terrific cow pony.
Dynamite's name fits her. She has bucked with some riders and she has a lot of get-up-and-go. She's not a tall horse but is wide, strong and very athletic.
If you're interested in adopting Dynamite, contact the Humane Society of Missouri's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch at 636-583-8759. Dynamite's animal id number is A421897

National If Pets Had Thumbs Day
Ruuuuf! (wow) Now this is a holiday we can really sink our canines into! If we only had thumbs... it would be much easier to take the lid off our cookie jar! Soccer and flippy flier would take on a whole new dimension! We could use the can opener open our favorite, Country Stew. The list could go on and on! And we don't even want to think about what it would mean for the horses! They'd be going on exciting new adventures since, with thumbs, they could open all the gates! Hey! Wait a minute! WE could open gates, too and go with them! sigh... we'll use the whole day just coming up with thumb ideas! A big paws and claws up to National If Pets Had Thumbs Day!
