For Love of a Dog Jewelry began with my heart dog Lucy.
So it just felt right to ask my angel to come back
to close the door at For Love of a Dog Jewelry..
That's right. Closing.
If you've had your eye on one of my handmade jewelry pieces
for yourself or a friend, better shop For Love of a Dog now.
In addition to being one of a kind, there will be no more.
Oh wow Sue. I am just seeing this. It makes me really sad. Will you still do it just for fun?
ReplyDeleteWill you do something else? You've been in business for as long as I've known you!
I promise to write a more detailed blog post explaining. The short answers are that I learned long ago to never say never, however I don't plan to make any more jewelry other than for myself and for fun.
DeleteBoth the good and the bad news but glad you've made the choice to do what's best for you, et al. Giant hugs to the humans and extra tummy rubs to the pups. C, G, D. Foxy, Cubbie, Biscuit and Lily.
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond devastating. Praying maybe it will just be a hiatus. It is important to take time for you though........but...I am just devastated and so, so sorry.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Caren. I learned when we moved from VA to MO that it is never a good idea to take a hiatus... the business must be fed constantly. It really is time to hang up my jeweler's tools. Beating hearts are at the top of my priority list ... not work.
DeleteOh, I'm so sorry to see this. I hope it's a decision you're okay with. I'm wondering the same as Mel - will you still be doing it for fun? Or something else? Sending hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'll miss the making, but not the marketing and other things I have to do to sell the jewelry. As I responded to Mel, I promise a longer, more detailed blog post soon.
DeleteI'm keeping my eyes peeled for that post. Sorry to see you go :(
DeleteI'm sorry this chapter of your life is closing.
ReplyDeleteI am, too.
DeleteOh Sue, I'm tearing up again as I read this. I can't imagine what it took to come to this decision and my heart aches for you! I'm praying for peace for you and your family! I will certainly miss my go to girl for all things jewelry. Your pieces are some of my favorite and I wear them all the time! I'm with Jackie and Mei, what are you planning? I certainly hope to stay in touch! Hugs from myself & Shasta!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! This decision was a long time in the making and I didn't treat it lightly.
DeleteWow, this is a shock! So sorry to hear this as your pieces are so wonderful. I hope you don't just disappear from the web. Take some time, maybe you need to get away for a bit.
ReplyDeleteMom is just heartbroken to hear this! But you mentioned that you have arthritis so if that's why we understand. Your work has left a mark on so many people, and you are so talented that we will miss seeing it. I think she has enough pieces to satisfy her for now but I know she will take a peak. We'll still see you on your blog I hope! Love Dolly
ReplyDeletetears my friend, I'm sorry to see this. I'm sure it had to be a very hard decision for you to make and I am sending all my love and peace to you right now!
ReplyDeleteSorry to read this ... for sure you have good reasons. Sending you lots of Golden Love
ReplyDeleteI was hoping when you sent me the email that you were closing down the business that you would change your mind! Your pieces are so beautiful and you have touched so many lives with them. I'm sure it was hard to make this decision. God bless you. Sending hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh no, Sue, we are so, so sad to hear this. I just love your jewelry, and you are so talented. I wish you the best of luck with wherever you are going from here. I will now cherish every piece I have from you even more.
