Waiting for Santa Paws

This is Tucker and Jeffie waiting for Santa Paws on Christmas Eve. Can you believe them? I tryed to tell them... Santa does not come through the front door. Crazy boys! Then never seem to want to listen to me. Mama said it was kind of mean to show you this photo, but I figure since Tucker's been hogging the dog blog that you might as well see what you're dealing with!

Santa did cme and my favorite is a penjuin that sings Jingle Bells. I love singing and talking monkeys (that's what we call toys at our house). Hope Santa was good to you, too!

Tucker's Favorite Dog Cookies

Woooof... it smells good in here! Mama and the goldies (Lucy and Jeffie) are in the kitchen making dog cookies! Mama makes different ones, but these are my favorite. While they're baking I thought I'd share the recipe with you.

Tucker's Favorite Dog Cookies
1 package active dry yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup lukewarm (110-115 degree) water
1 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons molasses
1 3/4 to 2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup cracked wheat
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt
Combine the following to brush tops before baking: 1 beaten egg PLUS 1 tablespoon milk
In a bowl, combine 1 cup of the all-purpose flour, the whole wheat flour, cracked wheat, cornmeal, dry milk powder and salt. Mix well. Then add yeast/water mix, molasses and broth. On a floured surface knead in enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out dough to cut into biscuits with a doggie cookie cutter. Place on un-greased baking sheets. Brush tops. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Turn oven off and leave in oven overnight. Makes 36-40 dog cookies.

Lip Smacking Success!

I'd have to say my birthday was a lip smacking success... love that ice cream! Grandma came out to the farm and brought her little dog Andy (that's him to the left). What a little stinker! At least he didn't go to the DQ with us. I guess he's cute (at least that's what everyone says), but he always has to sit on Grandma's lap. You know what that means... less attention for me!

Today is a very depressing day. It's the second day of freezing rain and I hate rain. I don't like ice storms either. But Mamma says its to get us in the mood for Christmas. And, boy, do I ever love Christmas! Jeffie wants a big new yard ball. Lucy really just wants treats (she's on a diet) and toys that talk! I like soft squeakers myself. My stocking is already hung, ready and waiting!
Woof! Woof!
