Birthday Hats for Jeffie | Wordless Wednesday

No sissy boy he, our Birthday Boy, Jeffie, thought
the birthday crown was kind of humiliating.
He was pretty vocal about that sissy crown!

Though still not keen on wearing any hat, as long as there are treats involved, Jeffie showed patience.
Jeffie really prefers to go hatless!

Yes, Jeffie celebrates his 8th birthday this month.
I'll be sharing photos of his birthday party,
plus there will be a giveaway next week.

Duck is rich in iron, which is a mineral that is important for proper function of the red blood cells. Hormone free and antibiotic free. Naturally preserved without the use of ethoxyquin
Chickpeas (carbohydrate / legume) Also known as garbanzo beans, chickpeas are a slow burning carbohydrate for all day energy. Canidae dog treats easily break in half.

Canidae dog treats are relatively large rectangular biscuits which are designed to break easily in half. Definitely crunchy, Canidae says their biscuits also clean teeth and freshen breath.  Marketed as an excellent size for dogs of all life stages, breeds, and sizes.
  • Fresh meat or fish are always the first ingredient for optimum levels of quality protein
  • Recipes are complemented by nutritious whole foods like sweet potato, chickpeas & peas
  • Pure, simple recipes made with only 7–10 key ingredients for less chance of food sensitivities
  • Never any corn, soy, wheat, fillers, antibiotics, hormones, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives
Rosie liked the Canidae turkeyand quinoa dog treats best.

I was especially impressed by this company's dedication to safety.  To assure the safety of their products, Canidae has strict protocols which require that all formulas are tested in-line during their production runs and cleared by a second supervisor every 30 minutes. Additionally, there are 141 ingredient tests and 10 finished product tests that are performed. A sample of each finished goods batch is also sent directly to our research and development center where they are tested again, this time by a third party lab, for known toxins and potential risk hazards.

Rudy loved both varieties of Canidae dog treats he tried.
I loved learning that all Canidae products are made in the United States using the highest quality U.S. ingredients.
All formulations are produced in USDA, FDA, and AAFCO approved facilities. The nutritionally dense fresh meats and meals we use originate from USDA inspected meats processed in a human grade facility. Our high quality grains, vegetables, and fruits are from human grade producers. All CANIDAE dry goods, cans, and treats are naturally preserved. All of our commodities have undergone stringent testing procedures prior to going into any of our products—assuring safety and freshness for both your pets and ours.
Picky eater, Jeffie, loved this taste testing of Canidae dog biscuits.
Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie give all paws up to these Canidae dog treats and I'm pleased to highly recommend them.
Jeffie says Canidae dog treats are tongue licking good!

Adopt Sabre a Senior GSD Dobie Mix in Missouri | Tuesdays Tails

This handsome fellow is Sabre.  He is a 9 year old black and tan German Shepherd Dog and Doberman Pinscher mix.

Sabre is very well behaved, loves people and is already housebroken.  According to shelter staff and volunteers he walks nicely on a leash and gets along with other dogs.

Have a look at Sabre's adoption video.  If you've got room in your heart to adopt a dog, give the Humane Society of Missouri at call at 314-951-1562.  Sabre's Animal ID number is A364402.  He's currently at their St Louis City animal shelter facility.

Golden Retriever Song by Super Furry Animals | Dog Song Saturday

It's Saturday, so you know that means it's time for a dog song at Talking Dogs!

In celebration of our own Golden Retriever / Border collie mix, Jeffie's birthday we have a special original dog song.

We're please to present Golden Retriever written and performed by the Super Furry Animals.

Super Furry Animals (also known as “SFA”, the “Furries” and the “Super Furries”) are a critically acclaimed Welsh alternative rock band, with leanings towards psychedelic rock, punk, britpop and electronic experimentation.

They formed in Cardiff, Wales in 1993 by Gruff Rhys, Huw Bunford, Guto Pryce, Cian Ciaran and Dafydd Ieuan and have released nine full length albums and numerous EPs. The most recent release is 2009’s “Dark Days/Light Years”.

Golden Retriever Lyrics:
Hey said the devil
When I met her at the roundabout
She's got powers
Magnetic devours you of everything you've got

She's a golden retriever
Retrieves your oldest coin
Leads you blindly down every dark alley
Then she'll bleed you dry

Stop! Said the puppy
When I met him at the zebra cross
She said "You need protection
From every direction
But she'll get you anyhow"

She's a golden retriever
Retrieves your oldest coin
Leads you blindly down every dark alley
Then she'll bleed you dry

She's a golden retriever
She's a golden retriever
Golden retriever
Grab a dog to cuddle.  Sit.  Stay.  Relax and enjoy Golden Retriever by the Super Furry Animals.  Then fetch some more genuine dog song music videos at Talking Dogs.  You'll be surprised at how many we've collected over the past few years.  And have a barking good weekend!

New Foster Dog Mom Bracelets at For Love of a Dog

I haven't had as much time as I'd like to be out in my studio lately.  However, when I have, I've been working on bird themed jewelry for my Bittersweet web shop and foster dog mom bracelets.  Well, with a little WOOF thrown in for good measure!

Shown at top is my favorite of the moment.  True blue fat faceted crystal rondelles and sweet royal blue and white lampwork beads surround a silver dog bone hand stamped with Foster Dog Mom.  check out that sweet deep blue lapis lazuli gemstone heart dangle and though you can't see it in this photo, there's a silver paw print lobster claw clasp, too.

Giving a gift to a friend?  Basic black is a great way to go.  This Foster Dog Mom bracelet has jet black faceted crystal rondelles surrounding a gold dog bone hand stamped Foster Dog Mom.  Chubby black onyx gemstone heart dangle and a gold dog collar and dog bone toggle clasp.

Expand on that basic black approach, but with a pop of color in this Foster Dog Mom bracelet.  Chubby black obsidian gemstone beads surround a gold dog bone hand stamped with Foster Dog Mom.  Adorable little hand carved poppy jasper heart dangles from the focal, plus there's a fat one at the clasp.

Woof away at everyone with this fun dog bone bracelet.  Just about everyone loves turquoise and this one is loaded with hearts!

I love the deep caramel colors in this WOOF dog bone bracelet.  Notice that some of these handmade lampwork beads have hearts surrounding them.

Since this is just a sample, you may want to fetch all of my new dog lover jewelry.  In fact, while you're at it, check out my Dog Mom jewelry and Rescue Jewelry, too!

Oh, dog gone it, just go to For Love of a Dog Jewelry and be prepared to smile - or woof!
