Comic Relief: Cooking with a Golden Retriever

Andy, the rat dog, is still here because my mom is still here recovering from her hospitalization.  Various physical therapists and nurses are in and out of my house at random hours.  The whole place looks like a cyclone hit.  The dogs are edgy.  We're edgy.

As you can imagine, the stress level at our house is high.  We're all looking forward to our lives returning to normal.  So, as I was looking for a dog song to feature tomorrow, I found myself wandering and watching funny dog videos.  Found some good ones, but this one really cracked me up!

Wordless Wednesday: Airing Out the Dog Paws in the Spring

I think we might all be able to agree that our Talking Dogs young yellow Lab, Rudy, is cute.  However, not everything Rudy actually does, is cute.

Here's Rudy enjoying a beautiful spring day from the comfort of our home.  From this spot he can keep an eye on the yard and be ready at a moment's notice to defend his kingdom.

Notice that Rudy has altered the screen on the patio door to allow his paws to air out and allow his nose first class access to all the sights and smells of the outdoors...  while still being able to lounge comfortably on a rug indoors.  Can't deny it - Rudy's a creative fellow.

Hilarious video of a dog talking about his shirt.  A charming take on what dogs are really thinking about being dressed in clothes.  Full disclosure:  the dogs at Talking Dogs are nudists at heart and rarely wear clothing other than a necklace (collar).

Funny Dog Video: Two Dogs Dining

I think this is one of the funniest dog videos I've ever seen.  It may even be the funniest.  I laughed and I was charmed.

Two dogs are waiting patiently to get served in a "restaurant," and in spite of waiting, never get anything to drink.

According to the folks who made it (who responded to concerns that the dogs were forced and might have hurt themselves on the forks):  The dogs loved it.  They are best friends and really liked getting all the attention.  We practiced with the cutlery in advance and both dogs very quickly figured it out.  Besides, the "waitress" kept on talking to them and encouraging them.  They are very well behaved and know when to sit still, take it slow and wait.  

This video was shot in one take;  no cuts or editing.  the hand coordination was not preplanned - since everything was up to the dogs - but we both intuitively acted on the feeling of the dogs movement, plus we could hear from the "waitress's" comments, what the dog were doing,.

It's Saturday and time for a dog song.  All of the humans at For Love of a Dog are crazy for Ok Go White Knuckles official video.  It is amazing and the tune is one that you may have trouble getting out of your head.  Not that that's a bad thing because as your brain repeats the song it will be accompanied by images of these incredible coreographed dogs.  Sit.  Stay.  Relax and enjoy.
