Canidae Dog Biscuit Treats Product Review | Tasty Tuesday

Rudy is ready for our Canidae dog treat taste testing.
When the folks at Canidae offered to send us some of their dog treats to sample, the dogs were happy to accept.

We received two packages of Canidae dog treats
  • Grain Free PURE Heaven Biscuits for Dogs in duck and chickpeas flavor
  • Life Stages Bakery Snacks for Dogs in turkey, quinoa, and butternut squash flavor.
Rosie and Rudy check out the Canidae dog treats; Jeffie thinks they smell delicious.

Canidae Grain Free PURE Heaven Biscuits for Dogs come in a large 11 oz bag.  This variety of treats come in both the duck flavor and salmon and sweet potato.

Their duck and chickpeas recipe features sesame seeds, avocado oil, and turmeric.  Canidae notes:
Duck (fresh protein) Sourced from California, duck is a rich protein source that provides amino acids, the building blocks for many body functions such as proper immune system function, optimal lean muscle condition, organ structure and function, and healthy metabolism. Duck is rich in iron, which is a mineral that is important for proper function of the red blood cells. Hormone free and antibiotic free. Naturally preserved without the use of ethoxyquin
Chickpeas (carbohydrate / legume) Also known as garbanzo beans, chickpeas are a slow burning carbohydrate for all day energy. Natural source of fiber for digestive health and protein for additional amino acid building blocks. Also rich in iron, important for healthy red blood cells and aiding in converting food into energy.

Canidae dog treats easily break in half.

Canidae dog treats are relatively large rectangular biscuits which are designed to break easily in half. Definitely crunchy, Canidae says their biscuits also clean teeth and freshen breath.  Marketed as an excellent size for dogs of all life stages, breeds, and sizes.
  • Fresh meat or fish are always the first ingredient for optimum levels of quality protein
  • Recipes are complemented by nutritious whole foods like sweet potato, chickpeas & peas
  • Pure, simple recipes made with only 7–10 key ingredients for less chance of food sensitivities
  • Never any corn, soy, wheat, fillers, antibiotics, hormones, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives
Rosie liked the Canidae turkeyand quinoa dog treats best.

I was especially impressed by this company's dedication to safety.  To assure the safety of their products, Canidae has strict protocols which require that all formulas are tested in-line during their production runs and cleared by a second supervisor every 30 minutes. Additionally, there are 141 ingredient tests and 10 finished product tests that are performed. A sample of each finished goods batch is also sent directly to our research and development center where they are tested again, this time by a third party lab, for known toxins and potential risk hazards.

Rudy loved both varieties of Canidae dog treats he tried.
I loved learning that all Canidae products are made in the United States using the highest quality U.S. ingredients.
All formulations are produced in USDA, FDA, and AAFCO approved facilities. The nutritionally dense fresh meats and meals we use originate from USDA inspected meats processed in a human grade facility. Our high quality grains, vegetables, and fruits are from human grade producers. All CANIDAE dry goods, cans, and treats are naturally preserved. All of our commodities have undergone stringent testing procedures prior to going into any of our products—assuring safety and freshness for both your pets and ours.
Picky eater, Jeffie, loved this taste testing of Canidae dog biscuits.
Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie give all paws up to these Canidae dog treats and I'm pleased to highly recommend them.
Jeffie says Canidae dog treats are tongue licking good!
* We received two packages of Canidae dog treats in exchange for our honest review of the product and service.  We received no other compensation - financial or otherwise.

  5. Yum! I like the fact that the bag is a good size and the treats are bigger. It seems like all the treats these days are so small. Yes, we watch our fur figures but we burn a lot of calories and can handle a larger treat sometimes. Great review.
