Not So Wordless Wednesday

Jeffie is exhausted.  And so am I.  Rudy?  Rudy is snoozing in our bed.

Why are we so beat?  It's not the heat, though with this heatwave, that would be a good guess.

It's not from playing too hard, because we've not been playing much at all.

It's not from blogging because we haven't been doing much of that either.

It's stress.

You see, the Dog Daddy at our house had a heart attack last week.  Surgery went well and he keeps insisting he feels fine.  However, things are not back to normal.

The truth is, there needs to be a new normal at our house.  One that doesn't include so much stress. And does include a whole lot more relaxation and fun.

Yes, Rudy, that means more Jolly ball!

  3. Sue, I am SO sorry; that's awful! I hope the recovery (although any kind of "recovery" implies stress), is uneventful. You all take care! Will keep you all in my thoughts. :)

  5. OMG! I am so sorry to hear that! I sure hope his recovery goes well and you can get to a less stressful place in your lives. I know recovery in itself can be draining on everyone and this on top of your Mother too! I wish you all the best and am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I do love that picture of Jeffie and I'm sure he and Rudy can play an instrumental part in your hubby's recovery process.

  7. Sue, Sending healing thoughts your way today for a speedy and complete recovery for your hubby. My dad had many heart attacks and I'm glad the med's now make recovery so much easier. Like you said, there will be changes-diet, stress, relaxation etc. but I can't think of anything better than beloved pets to help.

  8. Is Dog Daddy feeling better now? Having a sick loved one can drain the energy out of you. Just stay strong and harness your bloggy friends' energies.

Don't forget to take some vitamins or eat healthily at the least to build your immune system. We don't want anyone else to get sick.

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog daddy. I hope he is doing better. We all need to listen more to our fur babies, they are always trying to teach us how to have fun and relax. We should all follow in their footsteps more!

Sending healing thoughts and hugs for a fast recovery!

  10. So sorry about the Doggy Daddy. Yep, dogs pick up on our stress. A pet communicator told me that everything I say to our dogs comes with visual images that they pick up on. They feel our energy and they understand.

Best wishes and big hugs to you all!

  12. Thank you all! In Gary's case, genetics trumped healthy diet and exercise. Heart disease runs in his family. Though we eat healthy (very) and Gary is a runner, we were living on borrowed time and too busy to know it.

This experience is like an earthquake. After shocks are not yet over, in terms of processing and dealing with it. And won't be for awhile, I imagine. In real life mortality is hard to grasp.

I very much appreciate your support!
