Giving Back #GivingTuesday

 First there's Black Friday.

Then there's Cyber Monday.

Today is Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday is a movement to create a national day of giving to kick off the giving season on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.  Today is the second annual Giving Tuesday, celebrating the chairtable activities that support non-profit organizations.

In 2012 the Giving Tuesday movement had more than 2,500 recognized #GivingTuesday partners from all 50 states of our country.  More than 50 million people worldwide spread the word about Giving Tuesday.

  1. Did not know of this day, but it is kind of refreshing after the "deal" days we just had.

  2. What a great day to have, especially after all the consumerism of Black Friday!

  3. Yes, have to agree with the other comments - a refreshing change to hearing nothing but "shopping" news the last few days. (Funny, I just came from making a donation after reading Something Wagging's post for today. I didn't realize it was NGD, but I guess that was good timing.)

  4. I have not heard of this either, but I am in a bubble these days...lol. I have to make my charitable contributions before the end of the year. Last year I missed it because my brother was in the hospital (bad deal) and by the time he was better, it was already January...lol.
