Pet owners are reminded each April that it is important to know what to do if your pet is ever injured or has a medical emergency. There is no 911 number for pets so take the time to learn how to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies for your pets. Good family health should also include our pets. Keep a kit in your home and in your car if you travel with your pet. You can buy a first aid kit for people and add pet-specific items to it, or you can purchase a pet first aid kit from a pet supply store or catalog.
