When You Come Home A Song Your Dog Wrote by @BrendanBiondi | Dog Song Saturday

We've got a great new dog song for you today!  We love Brendan Biondi and he's written a new original dog song.  When You Come Home - A Song Your Dog Wrote is from his new album Songs My Dog Wrote.

All of the songs on Songs My Dog Wrote are written from a dog's point of view and are based on the positive things Brendan's dog has taught him. The album is available on iTunes.  The video features Brendan and his yellow Lab, Calvin.

Calvin is an AKC/Red Cross certified therapy dog who visits the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Armed Forces Retirement Home in DC with Brendan and his partner Christen.
"Who would have thought how much a dog could inspire you and change your life for the better?  I've learned so much from my dog, Calvin." ~Brendan Biondi
Part of the proceeds from sales of Songs My Dog Wrote will go to support Dogs on Deployment, a non-profit which helps connect service members with volunteers who are willing to board their pets during their owner's service commitments.  The rest of the proceeds will go to support an independent artist (Biondi) and his very hungry Labrador Retriever.

Sit. Stay. Get ready to tap your toes and smile while you listen to When You Come Home by Brendan Biondi.
Then fetch some more genuine dog song music videos at Talking Dogs.  You'll be surprised at how many we've collected over the past few years.  Including another barking good dog song from Brendan Biondi called Song My Dog Wrote.

Rudy Under the Christmas Tree Now and Then | Wordless Wednesday

Five years ago I was a very good girl and Santa came early to our house to deliver a puppy.

Yes, that 2010 photo is Rudy laying under the edge of our Christmas tree. Wasn't he a sweet little puppy?!

These days Rudy is such a big boy he doesn't really fit under a Christmas tree!  I do wish I'd thought to put a shoe in the 2014 photo :-)  Oh well, Rudy is still a sweet puppy!

Adopt Gump a 6 yr old Treeing Walker #Coonhound @WaysideWaifs in #KCMO

This handsome fellow is Gump.  He's a 6 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound.  According to Wayside Waifs staff and volunteers he's very gentle and affectionate, plus highly treat and praise motivated.  Gump would really like to have a forever home for the holidays.

Here's Gump's adoption message:
Hi there! My name is Gump and I'm a very handsome Treeing Walker Coonhound. I'm 6 years old, weigh about 51 pounds, and have soft floppy ears. When I first was transferred to Wayside Waifs from another shelter, I wasn't feeling too well...and I was pretty skinny. The good people here took such wonderful care of me, that now I'm feeling great, and ready to find my true, forever family!

The good thing about being 6 years old is that I'm a little more laid back than a puppy. I'm not your typical goofy, vocal hound (though I may have my moments!) I'm gentle, affectionate and sensitive, and really love attention from people. I know how to come on command, and am ready to learn all those other good behaviors that will please my family. I'm motivated by treats and praise, so it should be easy for me to pick up new skills.

In addition to basic obedience training, I'll need plenty of mental and physical exercise to channel all my energy and curiosity. On walks, I'll do best with a harness. You see, I'm a nose-to-the-ground kind of hound, and my great sense of smell can sometimes distract me. Are you the partner and leader I'm looking for? I'd love to learn how to focus better so I can please you in every way!

Won't you come out to Wayside Waifs and meet me soon? When you do, bring all the family members so we can be sure we all get along. I'm healthy and happy and ready to live in a home with a real family. Will that family be yours? I hope so, and I'll be waiting here for you. Come soon!

Wiggles and wags,
Gump
