Tres Chic Dog Harnesses from The French Dog

Rosie is looking tres chic in her new harness from The French Dog..

Even a couple of country hick dogs like a little fashion treat from time to time.  They may not often go anywhere all that exciting, but Rudy and Rosie are tres chic their new harnesses from The French Dog.

As a Valentine treat for myself, I shopped dog collars and harnesses online and couldn't resist these two. They're step-in style, so very easy and fast to put on which is a real plus according to Rudy and Rosie.
Rosie's new harness is adorable with a scattering of ripe cherries on a blue background. Kinda retro and totally cute!

These harnesses are not only well made, they're custom made, so sure to fit.  I'm so pleased with the quality and the speedy shipping.  They arrived in plenty of time for Valentine's Day.

Rudy's custom harness fits his deep chest so well!

The French Dog is the passion of Karen Dibert and is named after her own French Bulldog pair, Louie and Jill.  Karen makes handmade collars, harnesses, leashes and dog coats in some very cool patterns and designs.  Styles include preppy, nautical, plaid, tie dye and a whole lot more.  She also makes some pawsome doggie bow ties and flowers to add to dog collars.

Gorgeous teal paisley design looks great against Rudy's furs!

I do want to make it clear that I shopped for and purchased these harnesses, so this is not an ad or sponsored review.  These harnesses are so beautiful that I just wanted to share The French Dog with you and your pups.

The Generosity of Friends | Barks and Bytes

I just have to share something with you.  The other day Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie and I were thrilled to get a certain package in the mail.

That package was from our buddies over at Sand Spring ChesapeakesGambler, Glory, Nellie and JoAnn.  Though JoAnn said she was sending Jeffie a birthday gift, just look at these three amazing dog collars!

Handmade by JoAnn who not only did a fabulous job on these paracord collars, but she coordinated the colors perfectly.  As she says in her notecard:
Rosie - Dark blue & white for her Blue Devils
Rudy - light blue and white for his Tarheels
Jeffie - Royal blue and crimson for his Jayhawks

I think Rosie looks fantastic in her new collar!

 Rudy loves his!

Jeffie refused to pose nicely for me,
but collars just don't show up well on the hairy guy!

The dynamic duo are ready for anything
now that they're looking so sharp!

Don't you just love it?!  I do!  They're so sturdy, well made and beautiful!  Thank you so much, JoAnn!

In other news... I think we had 2 days of spring here and they included tornado warning..  We've now gone from stormy to temperatures in the upper 80's / lower 90's.   The dogs don't know what to think.  First it was too dark to take photos of the new collars, then it became so hot the dogs didn't want to cooperate at all.

Today I'm actually contemplating turning on the AC.  Remember that photo of my cherry tree I shared on May Day?  That night hail took every single one of the blossoms!  Sigh... Between late ice storms, wicked thunderstorms and hail, no flowering tree, shrub or flower blossom survived longer than a day or two around here.

Oh well.  I think we'll be swimming early this year!

AND if you missed my Give Cancer the Paw blog post, you missed my video of my heart dog, Lucy, with my Randy Barr original dog song Lucy and Me.  Here it is again and at the end you'll see how you can get a song for your own dog and help canine cancer victims, too.

Celebrate Spring with Alcott Adventures #Giveaway | Product Review

Today is the official first day of spring and we're celebrating with Alcott Adventures and a giveaway!

The ice and snow is gone... at least for the moment.  Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie are ready for spring and some adventures outside.  Especially with their brand new collars from Alcott Adventures.

Alcott Adventures is on a mission to offer dogs, and the people who love them, products that designed for an active lifestyle, whether that a walk around the neighborhood or travel around the world.

Fetch Alcott Adventures and you'll find a complete line of gear and accessories to turn everyday walks into extraordinary adventures:
  • dog collars, harnesses and leashes
  • dog beds and blankets
  • dog sleeping bags and pup tents
  • Dog toys and apparel
  • dog health and wellness products
Alcott Adventures reinvented sizes for dogs to make it easy on their humans.  Generally speaking, if you buy a medium collar, you'll also use a medium in all the other Alcott products.
All of the products at Alcott Adventures have been developed by dog lovers and adventure buffs.  They're designed for ease of use, comfort, safety and practicality.

And FUN!  Can't forget the fun!  Not only will you find some fun products at Alcott, but the colors available are terrific.  Check out the pawsome pup tent and canine sleeping bag and convince me you don't want to take a doggie camping trip!

You can shop Alcott online in two ways: either by category or by adventure. There are four categories of adventures:
  • Essentials - the basics for everyday adventures
  • Explorer - the gear for enjoying the great outdoors
  • Traveler - cool stuff for traveling near or far
  • Mariner - for water powered fun
I shopped Alcott Adventures with a $50 gift code and I had a very difficult time choosing.  In fact, I've bookmarked a few things to purchase for myself later, including matching leashes and a Mariner life jacket.  I finally decided to get something that all three of my dogs could enjoy:  new dog collars.

Then, I decided that Rosie should definitely have one of these very cool dog collar charms.  Rosie is, for sure, a thrill sniffer!

I found the Alcott Adventures web site super easy to navigate and visually appealing.  Though I initially had a minor problem with the shopping cart, I queried their online customer service and received assistance within minutes. Plus, the minor glitch was fixed within 24 hours.

Shipping was speedy, too and it was no time before the order was delivered.  Here's what I received.  Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie were all three excited when their package arrived.

For Rudy, a Mariner adventure collar in vibrant blue (I'd call it turquoise) with with reflective accents and neoprene padding.  Perfect for an active dog with fun uppermost in mind like Rudy.

For Jeffie, a Traveler adventure collar in vibrant orange - though I like to think of it as "Golden Retriever" color! Also with reflective accents and neoprene padding.  Perfect for the security adventures Jeffie has every day.

For Rosie, an Essential adventure collar in vibrant red with reflective accents and neoprene padding.  Plus a Thrill Sniffer collar charm in red to match the Essential adventure collar.  Great choice for our resident vole hunter.

As I mentioned above, I've bookmarked some other things at Alcott to purchase later this spring.  Why?  Because I'm so pleased with these collars.   Very well made, sturdy, padded, reflective and fantastic colors, what's not to love.

Fetch Alcott Adventures for some barking good canine accoutrements and necessities, so you'll be ready for your next adventure.

Best of all...  you can show your dog's four-legged adventurous spirit if you're the lucky winner of Alcott Adventures $25 gift code giveaway!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

*I received a $50 gift code and the opportunity to offer a $25 gift code giveaway for my readers from Alcott Adventures in exchange for my honest review of their products.  I received no other compensation.
