More Like My Dog by JB and the Moonshine Band | Dog Song Saturday

Sometimes we in our search for songs about dogs for Dog Song Saturday, we come across songs that although they're not technically what we call dog songs, they're just too good not to share.

Today is one of those days.

Ladies, let's be honest.  How many times have you wished your sweetheart was more like your dog?  (My hand is up in the air.)  Well, More Like My Dog turns the tables.

Featured here performed by JB and the Moonshine Band, More Like My Dog tells the story of a fellow who we think has a lot to learn about women!

More Like My Dog lyrics

All he needs is food and water
A little shelter from the rain
He ain't the type that likes to argue
I've never once heard him complain
He never asks me where I've been
She could learn thing or two from him

I say come, he comes right here
He loves to go fetch my next beer
He rolls over, if I tell him to
There ain't a thing my dog won't do
Yeah, he likes my truck
He don't mind my gut
And he loves to hunt hogs
Why can't she be more like my dog

He knows when to keep his mouth shut
And both ears open wide
He don't ever sweat the small stuff
Cause he's just glad to be alive
You could say he's my best friend
Why can't she be more like him

I say come, he comes right here
He loves to go fetch my next beer
He rolls over, if I tell him to
There ain't a thing my dog won't do
And yeah, he likes my truck
He don't mind my gut
And he loves to hunt hogs
Why can't she be more like my dog

I say come, he comes right here
He loves to go fetch my next beer
He rolls over, if I tell him to
There ain't a thing my dog won't do
And yeah, he likes my truck
He don't mind my gut
And he loves to hunt hogs
And it's a well-known fact
That he's got my back if I get into a squab

Yeah, he's just a pup
But he knows what's up
We don't need no dialogue
Why can't she be more like my dog
Yeah, why can't she be more like dog
Oh, why can't she be more like dog
More like my dog
Just a little more like my dog
