Take Your Dog to Work Day #TYDTWD at For Love of a Dog

Take Your Dog To Work Day was created by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1999 to celebrate the great companions dogs made and promote their adoption. It's an annual event and is always celebrated on the Friday following Father's Day.

TYDTWDay encourages employers to experience the joys of pets in the workplace for one day to support their local pet community. PSI believes that this is a way for non-pet owners to see firsthand the special bond their coworkers have with their pets and be encouraged to adopt a new best friend of their own.

Here at For Love of a Dog Jewelry we celebrate Take Your Dog To Work Day every day.  Yep, we're among the pawesome work places that is totally dog friendly.
Trained by security expert, Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie are on the job.

Okay, I admit it.  As a one woman three dog business, that's pretty easy.  If I'm in the house working on computer chores, my pack is nearby.  Often one or two are keeping an eye on the outside.  Security measures.  You never know when FedEx or UPS might come down our lane.

Security patrols include my jewelry studio.  I can work easy knowing my pack is on duty.
If I'm out in my studio creating pet lover jewelry, my posse is with me providing doggone good inspiration.

"Are you about done, mama? Can we go back to the house now?

If you don't have a special friend of your own, we're hoping we've inspired you to add one to your life.  Head to your local animal shelter and adopt a best friend!

Since they were both adopted from Dogwood Animal Shelter in Osage Beach, MO, Jeffie and Rosie decided to make a few suggestions:

  7. My goal is to some day work from home so my babies can go to work with me. I used to be able to bring them occasionally but we have a new co-worker and I'm pretty sure he'd be against it.
